The DEWALT DW1269 29-piece cobalt pilot-point metal drill bit index set comes with pilot-point tips for starts on contact that result in clean, accurate holes. With an industrial-grade cobalt finish for drilling in stainless steel and other abrasive metals, these bits are designed to reduce lock-up on breakthrough, and also feature a no-spin shank that eliminates the frustration of bit spinning in the chuck. Other features include a tapered web for greater durability and reduced breaking, and size markings are located above the shank to prevent wearing away. This kit includes 29 bits, measuring 1/16 to 1/2 inch by 64ths, and a storage case.

Customer Review: Stainless steel here I come!

These drill bits are simply amazing - 10 out of 5 stars!!!! I cut 20 5/16" holes through 1/4" stainless steel almost as fast as I can drill through a piece of wood (use cutting lubricant for this and start with a smaller bit first - you don't need to start with an 1/8, you can start larger) and on the last hole, the bit was just as sharp a when I started. They cut as a high quality tool should, by cutting steel into long shavings, not little pieces. Oh and if you have to cut regular old mild steel, the metal doesn't stand a chance. I wonder what they do to aluminum, they probably eat it for breakfast!

For a set of bits that can cut stainless like butter, the price is also amazing!
