Description of DEWALT DW9216 7.2-Volt to 18-Volt Dual Bay Pod Style 1 Hour Battery Charger
This handy dual port charger uses a DeWalt patented three-stage charging system to maximize performance and life for your NiCad batteries. First, the DW9216 provides maximum charge of two batteries in just one hour. And then, a 1- to 3-hour equalization mode charges each individual cell fully. After the equalization charges complete, the maintenance charge keeps the batteries fully charged.This convenient charger features a thermal protection system that protects batteries that are too hot or too cold and adjusts accordingly, and it offers diagnostics with an LED indicator to indicate your battery's charge status. Five lights tell you at a glance where the battery is in the charging process.

Since I own both 12 and 18 Volt Dewalt batteries, it is great to have a charger that handles them all.
I also love the diagnostics feature of this charger compared to the "standard" chargers that come with the tools. I have found that this charger will "save" some batteries that will no longer take a charge on other chargers. No batteries last forever, but this charger may extend their lives a little.
