DEWALT DW939K 18 Volt 6-1/2-Inch Cordless Circular Saw Kit by DEWALT
Product DetailsManufacturer: DEWALT Model: DW939K Accessories:
Description of DEWALT DW939K 18 Volt 6-1/2-Inch Cordless Circular Saw KitIf you're looking for a circular saw that's convenient and easy to use above all else, DeWalt's 8-volt, 6-1/2-inch circular model is a smart choice. This saw features an alloy steel base plate, a bevel adjustment that goes to 50 degrees and can be recalibrated, and a depth-of-cut adjustment that reaches all the way to the blade. It easily cuts two-by material at a 45-degree bevel in a single pass, and has a left-side blade that adds visibility. We especially liked the blade-changing mechanism--the shaft-lock button is easy to find and depress, and the hex key stores on the body of the saw, making the blade easy to switch out and replace. This model also has a powerful fan-cooled motor with replaceable brushes that reach 3,700 rpm. The result is a saw that can cut 35 feet per minute of 1/2-inch plywood. It weighs only 8.4 pounds, and--without a cord to hassle with--you'll find that nothing is easier to haul around on a job site. A cordless saw is a serious timesaver, especially for smaller jobs, when dealing with a cord can be a real hassle. This kit comes with a T-guide; a 16-tooth, 6-1/2-inch blade; and a plastic carrying case. --Jonathon Tudor
Tools and Hardware Reviews of DEWALT DW939K 18 Volt 6-1/2-Inch Cordless Circular Saw KitCustomer Review: I haven't used my corded saw since. Summary: 5 Stars
I built a house last year (I paid someone else to do the framing) and, since there was no electricity at first, I bought all the DeWalt 18-Volt tools. There was no problem cutting 2-by lumber, unless it was wet. The battery lasted longer than I expected, but I do have several batteries, so I can get a whole day's work out of them. The torque of the 18 V tools actually exceeded some of my corded ones. I like the balance and the fact that I never have to worry about a cord getting in the way or finding a receptacle. My wife even drove over a set of tools in the case and I bent them back straight and they still work.
