The variable speed has a high and low range for any application, and the reverse switch is right above the curved trigger for easy access. The included charger juices up a spent battery in an hour. We especially like the light weight, even more so because it doesn?t cost in the power department. Lots of pluses: on-board bit storage, two batteries, hard case. I've only used it a couple of times, but it hasn't disappointed yet. It has good power, and I after a few small jobs the battery still has life in it. I'm not sure why it was called 'reconditioned' though, the only scuff I saw on it was on the case, and I think that came from delivery. I definitely recommend Dewalt power tools!
